MARSHMALLOW ON ITS WAY FOR LENOVO K3 USERS :-D

The ever-stylish and wallet-friendly Lenovo K3 Note is starting to get Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow. That’s right! Owners of the Lenovo’s sub-$200 smartphone will soon have access to key Marshmallow features like Google Now on Tap and the treasure trove of new Emoji that come part and parcel with the 6.0.1 update.

For those not in the know, the Lenovo K3 Note is a bang-for-your-buck device that has its home in India and southeast Asia. The smartphone launched last year with aplomb, and users were delighted to find so much technology squeezed into this 8mm thick device. While it’s not going to be competitive with flagship devices by any means, the K3 Note is an excellent option for someone just getting their feet wet with smartphones for the first time, or for someone looking for a secondary device to compliment their main driver.
It’s always good to see Marshmallow hit a new device because the version of Android has experienced such a notoriously slow rollout. The glacial release of Android 6.0 means that many, many users are still using Lollipop, KitKat, or even Jelly Bean. With Android N looming on the horizon, discussions about the increasing fragmentation of the Android ecosystem are cropping up more and more. Although it’s possible that Android N may bring some possible solutions to the table for the future of Android, in the meantime it’s nice just to see the Marshmallow love spread.
